How to Version, Deprecate or Delete a Plugin in Studio
In this section, you will learn how to version, deprecate, or delete the version of a Plugin in the Studio.

Versioning a Plugin
To version a Plugin, create and publish it in the Studio via the STK CLI.
Deprecating a Plugin version
You can deprecate a version of a Plugin already published in a Studio. When you publish a new version, no flag will indicate that the Plugin is deprecated.
When a Plugin version is deprecated, users will receive an email notifying them of the deprecation.
To deprecate a version, you need to follow the rules below:
1. You need a profile with content deprecation permission;
2. You must belong to the Studio where the Plugin version will be deprecated. The exception to this rule is a user with the Account Holder role.
To deprecate the version of a Plugin in a Studio, log in to the StackSpot Platform and follow the steps below:
Deprecating a version of a piece of content cannot be rolled back.
Step 1. In the Studio where the Plugin is, click the Plugin section and select the Plugin you want to deprecate;
Step 2. In the Plugin Description, click on the button indicating the current version of the Plugin;
Step 3. You will see 'Version History' on the left-hand side of the screen. Click on the '... three-dot button' next to the version of the Plugin you want to deprecate and then on 'Deprecate Version';
Step 4: Provide the following information:

The reason for depreciation:
- Lack of maintenance;
- Security issue;
- Bugs;
- Other

The slug and version of the Plugin you want to remove.
To continue, click 'Deprecate Plugin'.
You have deprecated a version of the Plugin.
Delete a Plugin version
Deleting the only version of a Plugin also deletes the Plugin entirely. To delete a Plugin, remove all its published versions.
To delete a Plugin, ensure that:
- The Plugin version is not in use or associated with any Stack.
- You have a profile with permission to remove content.
Deleting a Plugin version is irreversible. If you need the content again, create the same version or generate a new one.
To delete the version of a Plugin in a Studio, log in to the StackSpot Platform and follow the steps below:
Step 1: Go to the Plugins section in your Studio and access the Plugin to delete;
Step 2. In the left side of the Plugins screen, click on the button indicating the current version of the Plugin;
Step 3. You will see 'Version History'. Click on the 'More Options' button next to the version of the Plugin you want to delete;
Step 4: Click on the button 'Delete Plugin' and fill in the following field:
- The slug and the version of the Plugin you want to delete.
To continue, click on the button 'Delete Plugin'.
You've deleted a version of the Plugin.
