Initial Setup
In this section, you will find how to configure your organization in the StackSpot EDP Account.
This guide covers your organization’s initial setup in the StackSpot EDP Account.
It provides guidance on activating and configuring your organization's Account and Workspace. Follow the guides in the specified order:
Requirement
You must have Account Holder permission to proceed.
Follow the steps below:
Step 1. Activate your Organizations Account
1. Access the StackSpot Account Portal and log in using your organization's email.
2. Afterward, you will receive an invitation to sign in and access the Account.
3. After logging in, select the 'Organization' option from the main menu to access the Organization settings.
If you still need to get a StackSpot account, contact StackSpot and schedule a demo.
Step 2. Configure Single Sign-On (SSO)
Set up integration with your company's identity provider (IDP). It is necessary for any user logging in via your organization's SSO from the StackSpot Platform.
Step 3. Integrate SCM (Source Code Management) into your Account
When using your own cloud account on StackSpot, you need to create environments. Environments enable you to create content within Workspaces, such as Applications, Infrastructures, and more.
Follow the steps to Integrate your account's SCM
Step 4. Create Environments
Creating environments is essential when using your cloud account on StackSpot. Environments allow you to generate content within Workspaces, including Applications, Infrastructures, and more.
Follow the steps to create environments
Step 5. Setup Deployment for your Organization
You must configure a cloud account in StackSpot to deploy your Applications. You need to configure via Runtime Self-Hosted. To set it up, see the Runtime Self-Hosted configuration guide.
If your Account was created before 2024, deployments can still be done via the StackSpot EDP Deploy Engine.
You need to configure your Cloud Account within your Workspace. To see how to configure each provider, visit:
For more information about this deployment model, check the StackSpot Deploy Engine section.
Step 6. Create Permission Groups and Add Members to the Account
Now, create Groups to define the permissions for each member within your Account. Check out the guide on how to create groups.
You've completed the initial settings for your Account. Explore the following steps below:
Next steps
- Create Studio: The Studio is where your account members can create content in StackSpot, such as Plugins, Stacks, Starters, and Actions.
- Create Workspace: Workspaces are needed for using the content created in the Studio to develop Applications and Infrastructures.
- Configure Context in Account: Once your Account has Stacks created, you can configure Contexts. These are pre-configured values for Plugin inputs and other resources in a Stack to standardize or speed up the creation of Shared Applications and Infrastructures in StackSpot.
