Stack's Usage Insights

In this section, you will find a guide on how to visualize the use of a Stack in a Workspace, Application and/or Infrastructure.


Version data

To view Stack version data, deprecate it, or unpublish it, follow these steps:

Step 1. Access your Studio; Step 2. On the 'Overview' screen, click on the 'Manage Version' button; Step 3. In 'Manage Version', you can view the status of the Stack versions in the following tabs:

In this tab, you can see all the active versions of the Stack, and details such as publication date and authorship. You can also do the following by clicking on the icon next to each version:

In this tab, you can view all the active versions of the Stack and details such as publication date and authorship. Additionally, by clicking on the icon next to each version, you can perform the following actions:

  • Version details: You can view more information on the version.
  • Deprecate version: You can deprecate a Stack version. You can also see in which Workspace the Stack version is being used.
  • Unpublish version: Here, you can deprecate the version of a Stack.

To deprecate the selected version, click on the 'Deprecate version' button and follow the steps below:

Step 1. Select the reason: choose between Lack of maintenance, Security problems, Bugs or Other;

Step 2. Type the word DEPRECATE in the text field to confirm the depreciation;

Step 3. Click on the button 'Deprecate Stack Version'.


To unpublish the selected version, click on the 'Unpublish version' button and follow the steps below:

Step 1. Type the word UNPUBLISH in the text field to confirm unpublishing;

Step 2. Click on the 'Unpublish Stack Version' button.

Linked contents

To view the data of linked content to a Stack, follow the steps below:

Click the Stack you want to view and then on the 'Usage Insights' section;

That's it! You can now view the content linked to a Stack.

Within this section, you can view the following subsections: Workspace and No Use.

Workspace

You can see which Workspaces the version of the Stack is being used in. To check the usage details, click the Workspace you want to view. Inside, you will find information such as:

  • Stack version: Which versions of the Stack are being used in the Workspace?

  • Environment: The Account environments where the versions are published.

  • Used in: Which and how many Infrastructures and Applications is the version being used?

You can also deprecate or unpublish the version of a Stack that is not being used.

To deprecate the selected version, click on the icon next to the version and then on the 'Deprecate version' button. Now follow the steps below:

Step 1. Select the reason: Choose between Lack of Maintenance, Security Issues, Bugs or Other;

Step 2. Type the word DEPRECATE in the text field to confirm the depreciation;

Step 3. Click on the button 'Deprecate Stack version'.

To unpublish the selected version, click on the icon next to the version and then on the 'Unpublish version' button. Now follow the steps below:

Step 1. Type the word UNPUBLISH in the text field to confirm unpublishing;

Step 2. Click on the button 'Unpublish Stack version'.

Not in use

In this subsection, you can see which versions of the Stack are not being used in any Workspace and the date on which each version was published.

It is also possible to deprecate or unpublish the version of a Stack that needs to be used.

To deprecate the selected version, click on the icon next to the version and then on the 'Deprecate version' button. Now follow the steps below:

Step 1. Select the reason: choose between Lack of maintenance, Security problems, Bugs or Other;

Step 2. Type the word DEPRECATE in the text field to confirm the depreciation;

Step 3. Click on the button 'Deprecate Stack version'.

To unpublish the selected version, click on the icon next to the version and then on the Unpublish version button. Now follow the steps below:

Step 1. Type the word UNPUBLISH in the text field to confirm unpublishing;

Step 2. Click on the 'Unpublish Stack Version' button.
